Here is a rundown of all the NBA Summer League games on Tuesday:
Indiana Pacers vs. Phoenix Suns (4 p.m. ET, ESPNU)
Despite erasing a 13-point fourth quarter deficit, the Pacers (0-2) fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 105-94, on Sunday. A bright spot in the game for Indiana was the play of 19-year-old rookie Johnny Furphy, who posted a team-high 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Second-year forward Jarace Walker also had another solid outing for the Pacers, finishing with 15 points (5-for-11 three-point), eight rebounds and four assists.
The Suns lost their first Summer League game, 90-73, to the Warriors, in which the Suns trailed by as many as 25 points. Phoenix turned the ball over 19 times, which led to 23 Golden State points, and shot 18.8 percent from three-point range.
New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets (4:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
The New York Knicks lost a close one to the Hornets on Saturday. In the four-point lost to the Hornets, teenage French phenom Pacome Dadiet, perhaps the Knicks’ most prominent prospect, scored five points and had five rebounds.
The Brooklyn Nets were defeated by the Los Angeles Clippers 87-78 on the second day of Summer League action. Despite the loss, Keon Johnson had an incredible performance, putting up 27 points, six rebounds, and four steals on 9-of-16 shooting. The guard out of Tennessee appeared in just five games for Brooklyn last season.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Denver Nuggets (6:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
Brandon Miller chose to play in the Summer League, something many were surprised by, considering he was the Hornets No. 2 overall pick last season and third in the Rookie of the Year voting. However, he finished Saturday with 23 points and eight rebounds. Zavier Simpson also had 15 points.
In his second Summer League game on Sunday against the Raptors, Nuggets guard Trey Alexander posted 18 points, five assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block in 31 minutes as a starter. The team wound up losing 84-81.
Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons (6:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
Matas Buzelis, who was the No. 11 pick by the Bulls in the draft, had a huge game on Sunday in a loss to the Warriors. He put together one of the better rookie performances of the Summer League so far. In 34 minutes, Buzelis posted 28 points, five rebounds and two steals.
Unheralded rookies led the way as the Detroit Pistons stomped the Rockets 87-73 in their last summer league game. It was all undrafted guard Daniss Jenkins and 37th overall pick Bobi Klintman. Jenkins led the way with 26 points and four assists, going 6-for-11 on his three-point attempts. Klintman added 18 points and nine rebounds.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (8:00 p.m., ESPN2)
The 76ers spread out the scoring in their 97-95 loss to the Trail Blazers. Four players scored in double digits. The best was Jeff Dowtin, who had 17 points and eight assists. Justin Edwards also had 12 points.
The Timberwolves beat the Pacers 105-94 on Sunday. Terrence Shannon led the way for the Timberwolves with 19 points, but he also added four rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals. Josh Minott had a double-double of 15 points and 12 boards. Daishen Nix finished with 16 points, seven boards and six assists. Rob Dillingham notched 14 points and eight assists. Nadir Hifi added 18 points off the bench.
Washington Wizards vs. Portland Trail Blazers (8:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
The Wizards ran into a Summer League buzzsaw on Sunday in the form of the Rockets, who trotted out last season’s SL MVP Cam Whitmore in a 109-91 loss. Justin Champagnie led the way at the half with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Jules Bernard added nine points.
In the Trail Blazers 97-95 win against the 76ers four players scored in double digits, probably none more important than Donovan Clingan, the team’s seventh overall draft pick. He had eight points, six rebounds and three blocks. Bryce McGowens led the way with 20 points in 20 minutes.
LA Clippers vs. Milwaukee Bucks (10:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 87-78, on Sunday. Jordan Miller followed up his 36-point outburst with 21 points along with five rebounds and four assists. Kobe Brown finished with 13 points and six boards. RayJ Dennis and Elijah Harkless each had 10 points coming off the bench.
The Bucks had a rough game against the Bulls in their last Summer League game. The team is still searching for its first Summer League victory. Chris Livingston was one of the few positive takeaways from the game. In 23 minutes, Livingston finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. He shot 6-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-5 from deep.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs (10:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
The Pelicans dropped their first game. The headliner of the Pelicans’ group this summer is Jordan Hawkins, their No. 14 overall selection in the 2023 draft out of UConn. Unfortunately, Hawkins struggled, as the Pelicans dropped the opener 81-74 against Orlando. While he did finish with 18 points, that was on 6-of-22 shooting. Center Yves Missi, who they took at No. 21 in this past NBA draft, scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds.
The Spurs stepped up in a 79-76 win over the Hawks. They got contributions up and down the roster on both ends. D’Moi Hodge led the team in scoring with 13 points, while hitting three triples. Jamaree Bouyea had another strong showing with 12 points, four assists and three steals.
