The Philadelphia 76ers look to end their six-game losing streak when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

The Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers are facing off for the final time this season on Saturday night. The 76ers will try to win the series in the finale tonight holding a 2-1 season-series lead. This is not how the Sixers imagined their season going at all though when they signed Paul George. Getting back from the All-Star break didn’t help much either as Philadelphia lost big on Thursday to the Boston Celtics 124-104. The loss was the 76ers’ sixth in a row and they’ve lost eight of their last nine games. Although, the good news is that they are only a game and a half behind the Chicago Bulls for the last play-in spot. There is still time to make a run. The 76ers will be favored to take care of business at home and complete this series win tonight.

Philly just couldn’t stop Payton Pritchard in its lost to the Celtics. Pritchard made eight threes and led the game with 28 points. Jayson Tatum followed that performance up with his fourth-career triple double. George was the Sixers highest scorer with 17 points. Philadelphia has only played 14 games this season with George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in the lineup and it is 7-7 in those games. Embiid scored 15 points and the 76ers got down by 29 at one point. Maybe the results will be different when this team gets healthier.

The Nets beat the 76ers in their game before the All-Star break 100-96 with D’Angelo Russell leading the way with 22 points. Brooklyn couldn’t replicate that performance though on Thursday returning from break losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-97 to end a three-game winning streak. The Cavs improved on their best record in the East getting a great performance from Donovan Mitchell leading the game with 26 points. Cameron Johnson led the Nets with 18 points but the team wasn’t able to overcome the Cavs scoring 11 in a row in less than two minutes late in the third quarter. Cleveland ran away with the game from there. This game against Philadelphia should be a much closer contest like last time.
