In the first game between the teams this season Chicago won in overtime (129-123) back in February. Chicago came back from down nine points in the fourth quarter and controlled overtime to upset Minnesota just before the trade deadline.
Chicago was led by a quartet of DeMar DeRozan (33 points), Coby White (33 points and seven assists), Nikola Vucevic (24 points) and Andre Drummond (16 points and 16 rebounds) that combined for 112 of the teams 129 total points. That jumbo starting lineup with Alex Caruso helped Chicago matchup with a long, athletic and massive Minnesota team.
Edwards led the way for Minnesota with 38 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in the loss. This season Edwards has been dynamic on both ends of the floor leading Minnesota to the top-rated defense in the league.
