As the NBA regular season winds down, the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics will take the floor tonight.
In a battle between two Eastern Conference squads, the Boston Celtics will host the Brooklyn Nets tonight at TD Garden. While these two teams have seen very different levels of success this season, anything can happen at this point in the year. With the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics are 49-19 in the 2024-25 campaign. As the defending champions, Boston has been playing with a target on its back all season but has largely been very impressive and looks worthy of being a potential repeat winner. The Nets are 23-45, which has them on the outside looking in on the postseason. It would take a significant turn of events for Brooklyn to even make the Play-In Tournament at this point, as the franchise looks ahead to the 2025 NBA Draft and continues this rebuild.

Although the Celtics are clearly the better team in this matchup, the Nets have been able to shock teams this season and win quite a few games as major underdogs. With that in mind, Brooklyn is facing many key injuries at this point, most recently seeing Cam Thomas being ruled out for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign. Even then, Boston will need to bring its best to ensure a win tonight. When it comes to March basketball in the NBA, anything can happen given the parity of the league.
Following this contest, the Celtics will have several days off before a road game against the Utah Jazz on Friday night. Meanwhile, the Nets will travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers on Thursday night.
