The Cleveland Cavaliers look to improve to 4-0 to start the season when they travel to take on the New York Knicks Tuesday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are rolling to start the season and they’ll look to keep it rolling that direction when they head to Madison Square Garden to face off against the New York Knicks on Monday night. Cleveland is going for its fourth win in a row to start the year. All three of those games have not been all that particularly close even though this game against the Knicks will be the toughest test so far of this young season. The Cavs had their way in their last game against the Washington Wizards on Saturday winning 135-116. Donovan Mitchell was the star of the game like usual leading all scorers with 30 points. It was the first time Mitchell led his team in scoring this season. Jarrett Allen had a great night as well following up Mitchell with 23 points. That’s not to mention that Allen didn’t miss a shot going 10 for 10 from the floor. Cleveland has beat Washington nine times in a row now. This game will be the first time these two teams faced off since the first round in the Eastern Conference playoffs where New York dominated winning that series 4-1.

This will be New York’s third game of the season and they are 1-1 so far with a 1-0 record at home. The Knicks came out very flat against the defending champion Boston Celtics in the first game for the league on Tuesday. But to New York’s credit, the Knicks were resilient in their last game beating the Indiana Pacers in a 123-98 blowout. Karl-Anthony Towns was sharp in his Knicks home debut with 21 points and 15 rebounds while Jalen Brunson led all scorers with 26 points in the lopsided affair. New York held Indiana to just 10 percent shooting from three-point range. This should be a tougher matchup tonight against Cleveland. Regardless, New York is the slight 3.5-point favorite back home tonight.
