LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers host LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets in NBA action. Watch the game free on Fubo.

The Los Angeles Lakers (20-16) are coming off two tough road losses heading into a five-game homestand. That starts with the young, plucky Charlotte Hornets (8-27) who are coming off a win that finally snapped a 10-game losing streak. LaMelo Ball went for 32 points in his second game back for his 15th game this season with at least 30 or more points. Ball is fifth in the NBA in 30-plus point games this season, despite playing in only 24 total games. Charlotte will try to build on the momentum of its first win in nearly a month behind Ball’s scoring and a roster that is starting to finally get healthy around the Eastern Conference All-Star vote leader for all guards.

This season Ball has found his role as a high level scorer. Ball is on track to join Oscar Robertson (five times), Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Luka Doncic (twice) and Russell Westbrook as the only players to average 30-plus points and seven or more assists for an entire season.

For Los Angeles the last two games have exposed some real challenges for James and company. Down the stretch Los Angeles struggled to take care of the ball and get good shots off. Los Angeles turned the ball over four times in both losses down the stretch squandering opportunities to beat two teams that are playoff contenders.

Since trading D’Angelo Russell for Dorian Finney-Smith the offense has slipped. Finney-Smith is averaging 7.4 points on 42.1% shooting from three, filling the role of Russell who was averaging 12.0 points and 5.9 assists per game off the bench before being traded.
