The Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors each get their first look at their lottery picks in the NBA Summer League. Toronto picked South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles with the ninth overall pick in the draft, adding him to a wing rotation that already features Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram, and RJ Barrett. He will matchup with Chicago’s lottery pick, French wing Noa Essengue, who was taken with the 12th overall pick. Essengue is a raw wing athlete who joins Chicago after playing professionally in Europe. Chicago will also see last year’s lottery pick, Matas Buzelis, in the summer league after a strong rookie season.

Last season, Buzelis made the All-Rookie second team and participated in the Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend. He finished his rookie season averaging 8.4 points. When given the opportunity to start (31 games), he stepped up with 13.0 points per game.

Also on the Chicago summer league roster are rookies Caleb Grill, William Hickey, David Muoka, Lachlan Olbrich, Micah Parrish, and Wooga Poplar, all trying to make the roster.

Toronto will get to see some of last year’s standout young talents play in the summer league. Second-year players Jonathan Mogbo, Jamal Shead, and Ja’Kobe Walter all join Murray-Boyles in Las Vegas.
