Coby White and the Chicago Bulls host Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers in Eastern Conference NBA action on Wednesday.

The Detroit Pistons (26-25) head into the All-Star Break with back-to-back games against the Chicago Bulls (22-31) come Wednesday. These are the final two games of the season between the Eastern Conference rivals. The teams split the first two games with Chicago winning the first game back in November and Detroit taking the most recent matchup just over a week ago. In the most recent game in early February Detroit held onto a lead built in the second quarter for a 127-119 shootout victory. All-Star Cade Cunningham led the way with 22 points and 15 assists, leading seven different players in double-figures scoring.

Detroit’s offense was rolling all game, scoring 30 or more points in all four quarters. In the second quarter Detroit saw the bench come in and change the game. They held Chicago to just 19 points as Simone Fontecchio and rookie Ron Holland led the way with 16 combined points.

In the loss Chicago was led by Nikola Vucevic with his sixth career triple-double. He finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists on 8-of-10 shooting from the field. Coby White added 20 points and Josh Giddey chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. 

Since that loss Chicago has moved on from Zach LaVine opening up more opportunities for rookie Matas Buzelis. The rookie has scored in double-figures in six straight games, including a career-high 24 points on 10-of-10 shooting. Buzelis is showing flashes of a potential future All-Star.
