Stephen Curry leads the Golden State Warriors against the Los Angeles Clippers in their first preseason game today.

This season the Golden State Warriors will have a different look and feel. After 13 seasons with Golden State, four championships and over 6,000 three-pointers Klay Thompson has moved on leaving Stephen Curry and Draymond Green behind to lead the team. Golden State will try to replace Thompson while creating a new identity with 11 new faces on the roster between rookies, two-way signings and free-agent acquisitions. They will take the court for the first time against the Los Angeles Clippers, who also watched an All-Star walk out the door during the off-season. Los Angeles will try to replace Paul George’s productivity and get back to the playoffs led by Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.

During the offseason Golden State worked to replace Thompson by signing sharp-shooter Buddy Hield, veteran playmaker Kyle Anderson and three-and-d veteran De’Anthony Melton. Those three give Golden State more depth, which could be the team’s biggest strength this season.

The starting lineup today will be something to watch out for as well as the closing group for Steve Kerr and Golden State. The team has two locked in starters in Curry and Green, but could round out the rest of the lineup with new faces as well as returning contributors Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, Brandin Pdziemski, Moses Moody, Kevon Looney, Trayce Jackson-Davis or Gary Payton II.

For Los Angeles the team is likely to feature a starting group of Leonard, Harden, Ivica Zubac, Terance Mann and the team’s big offseason signing, Derrick Jones Jr. as a wing defender who was a key part of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Finals run.
