The Charlotte Hornets try to end an 11-game losing streak but they’re running into a Detroit Piston team on Friday with a lot of momentum.

The Detroit Pistons look to get on the board in this season series when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. Detroit is going to have a great chance to do that tonight winning four of its last five games. The Pistons are 5.5-point favorites at home even though the Hornets are up 2-0 in this four-game series. It doesn’t help Charlotte’s cause that its lost eight games in a row and four straight on the road.

The Hornets did come close in their last game of ending the streak they still lost 115-108 against the Chicago Bulls at home on Monday. Miles Bridges led the game with 31 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists but Charlotte has still lost 16 of its last 17. The Hornets still shot better from the field than the Bulls but they especially struggled from three-point range shooting 23.3 percent. LaMelo Ball missed the game with a wrist injury and need him back badly to pull of this upset to end this streak.

Detroit is coming off a 105-96 win over the Orlando Magic on New Year’s Day. Jaden Ivey led the Pistons with 22 points but unfortunately he had to leave the game with a serious leg injury in the fourth quarter. An Orlando player slipped and fell on Ivey’s leg and he immediately grasped for his shin eventually being taken away on a stretcher. Expect the Pistons to rally around their teammate tonight. That puts even more on the shoulders of Cade Cunningham who isn’t firing at 100 percent either with a nagging knee injury. With the Hornets’ struggles though, Detroit should be able to keep this momentum rolling.
