They shift gears to take on the Indiana Pacers who won their season opener. Indiana looks to play spoiler again against New York and start the season 2-0 after a surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals. This is a match-up between two of the best point guards in the league today in All-NBA stars Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson who are both coming off of career-best seasons.

Haliburton started the season struggling from the field, but stuffing the statsheet with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Last season Haliburton finished with less than five assists in just six games combined between the regular season and the playoffs.

Indiana was able to overcome the struggles of its leader with four other players scoring at least 14 points. Myles Turner (20 points) led the way along with Pascal Siakam (19 points), Bennedict Mathurin (19 points) and T.J. McConnell (14 points) all paced the offense for Indiana in a season-opening win.

Brunson led the team with 22 points in New York’s loss to kick off the season. Karl-Anthony Towns (12 points and seven rebounds) and Mikal Bridges (16 points) struggled to find a rhythm in their debuts for New York and look to bounce back in Madison Square Garden for the home opener.
