In the last game between the teams Golden State won 140-137 in a shootout where Klay Thompson came off the bench to score 35 points on 7-of-13 from three, showing the veteran’s ability to be flexible in his role.

Rookie Keyonte George (33 points and six assists) and Collin Sexton (35 points and nine assists) combined for 68 points and 15 assists in the loss, carving up the Golden State defense all game. Utah has leaned into the youth on the roster, starting rookies George and Taylor Hendricks to build for the future.

Since that game Golden State has played much better team defense, giving up over 120 points in just four games. When Golden State is playing well on the defensive end, it opens up more opportunities for Curry and Thompson to bomb away from three and overwhelm opponents.
