The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the strongest teams at home in the league and they’ll be hosting the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. The Grizzlies are back home after a road loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The game was very close, but Dallas secured a 121-116 win. The loss ended a six-game winning streak for Memphis. The good news for the Grizzlies is that they are still only one game back of the Houston Rockets for the lead in the Southwest division.
The loss was even tougher for Memphis considering the Grizzlies were leading most of the way from the third quarter on. With the win, Dallas advanced to the NBA Cup quarterfinals. Memphis was up 15 points, but 37 from Luka Doncic and clutch threes under two minutes left from Spencer Dinwiddie and P.J. Washington Jr. helped secure the comeback. Those threes were part of a 16-3 run that sealed Memphis’ fate. Ja Morant still had a great game, leading the team with 31 points. Memphis should be the favorite to bounce back against the Kings at home.

The Kings are coming off a NBA Cup – Group Play victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday by a 120-111 score. The Kings at one point hit 15 straight shots in the win with Domantas Sabonis leading the team with 27 points. The Kings shot 51.6 percent from the field and an astounding 46.7 percent from three.
The win denied the top spot to Houston in the NBA Cup quarterfinals. It was Sacramento’s first win in the NBA Cup games. The efficient shooting erased an eight-point deficit in the second quarter for Sacramento that turned into a 12-point lead. If they shoot this well Thursday, the Kings can easily get this upset on the road.
