The banged up Atlanta Hawks may be without Trae Young when they host the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

The Atlanta Hawks (3-5), already dealing with multiple injuries, added a big name to their list of the walking wounded when on Monday night Trae Young left their blowout loss to the Boston Celtics with a sprained right rib. On Wednesday, the New York Knicks (3-3) come to State Farm Arena in Atlanta to close out a four-game road trip. While the Knicks come off a loss, they are 2-1 on the trip thus far. New York also attempted to address its depth issues at center, converting two-way player Ariel Hukporti to a standard two-year contract on Monday. Atlanta comes in with five losses in its last six games.

The Knicks took a 109-97 road loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday night, shooting just 38.6 percent, as the Rockets pulled away late. Jalen Brunson scored 29 points and dished eight assists for New York, OG Anunoby added 21 points and Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 17 points and 19 rebounds. Brunson leads the Knicks with 26.0 points and 6.0 assists per game, with Towns getting 21.3 points and 12.5 rebounds, and Mikal Bridges adding 17.2 points a night.

The Hawks trailed by as much as 37 points in their 123-93 loss to the visiting Boston Celtics on Monday. Jalen Johnson paced Atlanta with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Onyeka Okongwu came off the bench for 18 points and 10 boards. Young was averaging 23.9 points and a NBA-best 11.0 assists for the Hawks, with Johnson contributing 18.4 points and 10.0 rebounds.

Atlanta was already without sixth man Bogdan Bogdanović (hamstring), Kobe Bufkin (shoulder), De’Andre Hunter (knee), Vit Krejci (adductor), Seth Lundy (ankle) and Cody Zeller (personal) before Young’s injury. New York guard Cameron Payne (hamstring) didn’t play Monday, while forward Precious Achiewa (hamstring) is out and center Mitchell Robinson (ankle) is still recovering from surgery.
