The Golden State Warriors will host the LA Clippers this afternoon in the biggest game of the season for these two teams.

It’s the last day of the regular season, with many of Sunday’s slate coming with high stakes. Perhaps none are bigger than this afternoon’s contest between the LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors at Chase Center.

The Clippers are 49-32 on the season, but that’s still not good enough to secure the seeding they want. Despite winning seven in a row and 9 of its last 10, LA has to win today in order to ensure a top-six seed. The Clippers have gone just 19-21 on the road this season, which is something to consider entering today.

At 48-33, the Warriors also have a tremendous amount to play for this afternoon. The result of this game could potentially be the difference between securing a playoff spot and having to compete in the Play-In Tournament. Golden State has won seven of its last ten contests and has been one of the most impressive teams in the league since the trade deadline.

The duo of Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler has been fantastic this season, which is why the Warriors are one of the more dangerous teams in the Western Conference. The Clippers have the upside to be a dominant defense in the postseason, which is what they’ll lean on this afternoon and moving forward. This is arguably the most impactful game of the NBA slate on the last day of the regular season.

Following this contest, the final regular season standings will be very close to official. By the end of Sunday, we’ll know if these teams will be in the top six of the Western Conference standings with a ticket to the playoffs or, conversely, competing in the Play-In Tournambet to earn that honor.
