The teams split the first two games of the season with San Antonio, winning at home in the most recent matchup and Los Angeles earned a win much earlier in the season. Wembanyama has played well against Los Angeles this season averaging 25.5 points, 11.0 rebounds 6.0 blocks and 4.0 assists per game.

Wembanyama led the way with 27 points in the New Year’s Eve win over Los Angeles. Harrison Barnes (11 points) was the only other starter in double-figures, while Keldon Johnson (17 points) and Stephon Castle (15 points) came off the bench to contribute in the 36-point win.

James Harden led Los Angeles with 17 points, but a season-low one assist. That one assist performance was the lowest for Harden since March 22, 2019, also against San Antonio. Norman Powell scored 15 points and Amir Coffey added 14 points off the bench.

This could be the first game of the season between Kawhi Leonard and Wembanyama. Last season in three games Leonard averaged 23.6 points per game, leading Los Angeles to wins in each. Leonard is starting to ramp up, scoring double-figures in each of his last five games, leading Los Angeles to a 4-1 record.
