The Los Angeles Lakers try to end a three-game losing streak when they travel to take on the Denver Nuggets Friday.

The Los Angeles Lakers face off against a familiar foe on Friday, trying to get out of a rut when they travel to tip off against the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are struggling a bit without LeBron James in the lineup as they try to end a three-game losing streak. The Nuggets were dominant in the first game when these two met in LA back in November. LA returned the favor right back in Denver beating the Nuggets, 123-100 less than a month ago to tie this season series. Both Denver and Los Angeles have dropped in the standings recently. The Nuggets are third behind Memphis and LA is fourth but only a game behind. This game should be a lot closer than the projected -14.5 line in Denver’s favor even considering James isn’t expected to return to the lineup until March 16.

The Nuggets just can’t to seem to figure out the Minnesota Timberwolves lately. After coming back in Game 7 against the Nuggets in last year’s playoffs, the Timberwolves kept it rolling in Denver on Wednesday, winning 115-95. The Timberwolves went up on the Nuggets 3-0 in the season series in the process. Anthony Edwards led the dominating performance with 29 points and Randle scored 25. Nikola Jokic still played great like usual leading all scorers with 34. But Minnesota’s defense was smothering otherwise holding Denver to just 23.3 percent from three and 20 assists which is well below average for the league-leading Nuggets. Denver shot more than 60 percent in its previous game against OKC while shooting just 40.4 percent against Minnesota.

Los Angeles is coming off a 20-point loss also, dropping to the Milwaukee Bucks 126-106 on Thursday. The Bucks dominated even though Luka Doncic had the most dominating individual performance scoring 45 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 24 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists just missing a triple double. Milwaukee ended a three-game slide of its own in the process. Will it be Denver or LA who turn it around tonight to build an advantage in the West standings?
