The Oklahoma City Thunder host the Los Angeles Lakers for the first of back-to-back games on Sunday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder host the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon looking for their seventh win in a row at home. OKC has only lost five games at home all season. But the Thunder are coming off a rare loss on Friday that ended an 11-game winning streak. This is the second of a three-game season series between the Lakers and Thunder. The last time these two played was in the NBA Cup back at the end of November. OKC won 101-93 with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring a game-high 36 points. This is the first of back-to-back games between these Western Conference foes with the Thunder hosting the Lakers again on Tuesday. The Thunder are the 8.5-point favorite to win the season series tonight.

The Houston Rockets had one of their most impressive wins of the season beating the Thunder on Friday 125-111. Jalen Green led all scorers with 34 points and Alperen Sengun was right behind him with 31. Jalen Williams still had a great game leading OKC with 31 points. Chet Holmgren turned his recent three-point fortunes around by making a career-high six threes to end the night with 20 points. The Thunder are far and away the best team in the West but this turnaround by Houston has been tremendous as the Rockets are the second seed in the conference for a reason.

The Lakers try to keep up the pressure as they are only a half game up on the Denver Nuggets for the third seed. LA is coming off a bounce-back 124-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. Luka Doncic struggled in the Lakers’ previous game against the Golden State Warriors but he returned to form against NOLA scoring a game-high 35 points. Austin Reeves also was sharp with 30 with LeBron James adding 27 points. It was a big turnaround for Doncic even against the Pelicans as he missed his first seven shots. Look for him to get out to a much quicker start against OKC.
