The Lakers are coming off a huge win against the No. 2 seed Houston Rockets 140-109. Even though Houston was resting its starters, the win was still impressive with the Lakers shooting 60.9 percent from the field and 51.4 percent from three. Luka Doncic had a great game leading all scorers with 39 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists. Dorian Finney-Smith had a great game beyond the arc hitting six threes. The Lakers went from the seventh seed last season to the third this year.

Portland is coming off a 103-86 loss against the Golden State Warriors Friday. Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 24 with Jabari Walker leading the Trail Blazers with 19. To be fair, Portland was with many of its best players including Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Deandre Ayton. The Trail Blazers have improved by 14 games this year going into this game and were in last place in the West after the 2023-24 season. Portland seems like it is heading in the right direction.
