LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers hit the road to face-off on Sunday with the Utah Jazz for the second time this season.

The Los Angeles Lakers (11-8) have hit a skid in recent weeks, losing four of the last five games. Before this skid Los Angeles defeated the Utah Jazz (4-15) in the first game between the teams 124-118. That game featured rookie Dalton Knecht’s historic performance for a rookie. In the win Knecht splashed home nine three-pointers and 37 total points. Before that game Knecht had made 25 total three-pointers and scored in double figures five times. Since that win against Utah he has made 24 three-pointers and scored in double figures in four of the last six games. Knecht gives LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves another weapon in J.J. Redick’s offense.

That first game saw Los Angeles build up a 22-point lead heading into the fourth quarter and needed all of Knecht’s three pointers to hold off a furious Utah comeback. Utah outscored Los Angeles 43-27 to fall just short.

James (26 points and 12 assists) and Davis (26 points and 14 rebounds) both finished with double-doubles in the win. Reaves rounded out the scoring as the only other double figure scorer with 17 points and five assists. Getting more scoring outside of James, Davis and Reaves while relying this much on a rookie has been a challenge for Los Angeles in recent weeks.

Utah was led by Lauri Markkanen with 25 points and eight rebounds. Four others scored in double figures, with Collin Sexton scoring 19 points, while John Collins, Keyonte George and Jordan Clarkson (off the bench) all scored 18 points in the loss.
