The Orlando Magic look to keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff standings when they take on the Washington Wizards on Friday.

The Orlando Magic go for a commanding 3-0 series lead when they travel to take on the Washington Wizards on Friday night. After a great start to the season, Orlando is now six games under .500 but still hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Magic should be the big favorite though as Washington is trying to avoid three games in a row. The Wizards have also only won seven games at home this season. Both games of this series have been in Orlando and they haven’t been all that close. The Magic won by near 30 in the first game and 20 in the second the last time these two played at the end of February. Franz Wagner and Anthony Black both scored 23 points to lead the game. It’s difficult to see a much different script tonight.

Orlando is trying to avenge a loss in its last game dropping to the Houston Rockets 116-108 at home on Wednesday. The Rockets won despite Paolo Banchero scoring a game-high 31 points. The Magic really struggled from three though shooting 25.7 percent. Banchero has averaged 33 points in his last four games but it hasn’t translated into wins as the Magic have lost six straight at home and nine of their last 13 games. Houston went on a 12-0 run in the third quarter that effectively put the game away.

Washington is coming off a particularly disappointing loss in its last game losing to the Utah Jazz 128-117 on Wednesday. Both the Wizards and Jazz are both last in the East and West heading into the matchup with 15 wins apiece. Washington still couldn’t take advantage despite Colby Jones scoring a game-high 24 points. The win ended a 10-game losing streak for Utah. At least Washington is back home now tonight.
