The Miami Heat (5-6) came away with a win over the Indiana Pacers (5-7) on Friday picking up their first win in the NBA Cup. That was also Miami’s second win in three games overall after a tough three-game losing streak. Miami was without All-Star Jimmy Butler, opening up the offense for Bam Adebayo to take over. Adebayo led the way for Miami with 30 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Seven Miami players got to double-figures in the win in the team’s highest scoring game of the season. Tyrese Haliburton will try to regroup Indiana to even the season series with Miami and get back in the win column after back-to-back losses.

In the loss, Obi Toppin came off the bench to lead all Indiana scorers with 21 points. The bench played much better than the starting unit for Indiana finishing with 54 points, 19 rebounds and 11 assists.

Haliburton had another solid game finishing with 18 points and eight assists. This season through 11 games played Haliburton is averaging a modest 16.0 points and 8.5 assists per game on 39-27-77 shooting splits. At this stage last season Haliburton was knocking on the door of an All-NBA First Team selection with 23.5 points and 11.6 assists per game on 51-43-93 shooting splits.

Last season Haliburton averaged 28.0 points per game against Miami in two games. That was his second-best scoring average against any team in the league. Indiana could use a big Haliburton game to get back in the win column.
