Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns host Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.

For the first time in two months two Western Conference contenders take the court with the Phoenix Suns (24-21) hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-21) on Wednesday. The first game between the teams went to Minnesota, led by Julius Randle. In the win Randle led the way with 35 points, which is still a season-high and just the second game this season he has scored at least 30 points. Phoenix was without both Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in the loss, putting the offensive burden on Devin Booker. He went for 44 points in the loss, helping Phoenix build a 10-point lead at the half.  Phoenix has both Durant and Beal in the lineup tonight to try and even the season series.

Anthony Edwards helped spark the comeback in the first meeting, scoring 20 of his 24 points in the second half. He finished 7-for-9 from the field in the second half, teaming with Randle to fuel the comeback.

This is a rematch from the first round of the playoffs last season where Minnesota swept Phoenix. In that series Edwards shined against his childhood hero, Durant, averaging 31.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game on 51.2 percent shooting from the field. 

Durant in the series averaged 26.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game on 55.2 percent shooting. Since Durant was traded to Phoenix he has faced off with Edwards and Minnesota eight total times between the regular season and the playoffs with the series tied 4-4 overall.
