The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the prowl, traveling to face the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Thursday.

Seven straight losses and counting for the Utah Jazz has Will Hardy’s side on the ropes ahead of Thursday’s visit from the Minnesota Timberwolves, who come to the Delta Center in predatory form. Following some patchier form earlier in the NBA season, 25-21 Minnesota has displayed more consistency of late and can celebrate back-to-back winning months as it seeks to climb in the Northwest Division. Nothing could be further from the truth for division rival Utah, who sits at the base of the standings with a 10-34 record and may already have more than one eye on the next season.

Despite the improved results of late, the Timberwolves can by no means afford to let their foot off the gas, as Chris Finch once again looks to prove their mettle as a playoff contender.

Minnesota has triumphed in its last five meetings against the Jazz, tying the franchise record for consecutive wins against Utah and improving its record to 90-52 in their head-to-head.

Last season was the first time the Timberwolves beat Utah four times in a single season, recording a clean sweep of home-and-away victories over his particular opponent.

Anthony Edwards continues to have himself a calendar season leading the Timberwolves’ charge, looking particularly predatory from the three-point line.

He has developed a very promising pick-and-roll partnership with Rudy Gobert of late, with the Frenchman upping his offensive contributions for Minnesota in recent outings.

Only three other franchises – Washington (21), Toronto and New Orleans (19 each) – have recorded more road losses than the Jazz (18) so far this season.

Despite that, Utah’s 7-18 road return is significantly better than its 3-16 home record, yielding at least a glimmer of hope ahead of Thursday’s showdown.
