Brooklyn is fairing slightly better than their division rival coming off a win in their last contest to end a three-game losing streak. Things got worse for Philadelphia in its last game in a 117-111 against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. Memphis scored a season-high 19 threes on the way to victory. Joel Embiid had a great night leading the game with 35 points. It looked promising that Philly got George and Tyrese Maxey back they only scored two and eight points respectively. Brooklyn is coming off a one-point win to break up its own losing streak when the Nets beat the Charlotte Hornets 116-115 on Tuesday in NBA Cup – Group Play. Cam Johnson had a game-high 34 points to lead the Nets to victory with Dennis Schroder adding 14 points and 12 assists. Charlotte had a chance to tie the game with 1.1 seconds left but Brandon Miller missed a three. The Hornets scored a layup instead but Brooklyn inbounded the ball to end the game. This NBA Cup – Group play game against Philadelphia will be the first time these division rivals face off this season.
