The Celtics are trying to avoid losing three in a row this afternoon on ABC. It will be a tough matchup against Denver, but Boston should be the home favorite.

The loss against the Cavaliers is a tough pill to swallow, especially since Boston held a 22-point lead and was winning most of the game. The game split the series 2-2 in the season finale. The fourth quarter is where it fell apart for the Celtics with Donovan Mitchell scoring 41 points and 12 in the final quarter. The loss outshined a brilliant game by Jayson Tatum, who led the Celtics with 46 points. This is likely not the last time these two will play one another this season.

Denver is coming off a big 134-119 win on Friday against the Detroit Pistons, ending their eight-game win streak. Somehow Nikola Jokic keeps making triple-doubles look easy as he scored 23 points, put up 17 rebounds and 15 assists. Jamal Murray came in clutch as well leading the team with 31 points. The game was close much of the first half but Denver broke away in the second. The Pistons had back-to-back winning months in January and February. Before that, they had an NBA-record of 37 losing months in a row. Denver beat a good team that looks like they’re on their way to a comeback. The Nuggets scored 134 points in both of their wins against the Pistons to sweep the season series 2-0. The road test gets much tougher today though.
