That schedule includes a Western Conference matchup, as the New Orleans Pelicans (12-40) head to the Paycom Center to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder (42-9). The Thunder will be trying to carry the momentum they’ve picked up over the first three-plus months of the season into the break as the top team in the Western Conference with a 7.5-game lead on the second place Memphis Grizzlies.

The Thunder stretched that lead last week, sweeping a four game homestand before beating the Grizzlies, 125-112, in their most recent game on Saturday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 32 points in that one, and has now scored 25 or more points in 20 games in a row. He’s averaging 34 points per game in five games in the month of February. The Thunder are 17-3 in those games.

In the Thunder’s two previous matchups against the Pelican this season, Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 and 29 points. Oklahoma City won both of those games with a 106-88 win at home in mid-November and then a 119-109 win in New Orleans in early December.

For the Pelicans, this is the final game of a four-game road trip. They’ll be looking for their first win of the stretch after losing twice to the Denver Nuggets and once to the Sacramento Kings.
