Alperen Sengun and the Houston Rockets host the shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers for the final time this season.

The Houston Rockets (43-25) have quietly won six straight games to take over as the second seed in the Western Conference. Over the last few weeks it has been a game of musical chairs for second place between four different teams. They can extend that winning streak against a struggling Philadelphia 76ers (23-44) team who has lost 17 of the last 21 games. Houston has locked in on both ends of the floor during this winning streak. Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green and the returning Fred VanVleet have given Houston a boost at the right time. They started this win streak on the road, but have won the last five at home. This is the sixth and final game of a homestand that has been very good for Houston.

Over the last six games Sengun is averaging 19.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game on 61.3% shooting from the field. He has been the anchor for Houston’s offense all season and is playing some of his best basketball now. The return of VanVleet to the lineup has also helped a great deal.

In three games since returning to the lineup VanVleet is averaging 13.7 points, 4.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game on 37.5% shooting from three. Having VanVleet in the lineup gives Houston another tough defender and clutch shooter.

For Philadelphia the season has taken a nosedive with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George all out with various injuries. That has opened up the offense for Quentin Grimes. He is averaging 19.3 points per game, by far a career-high in 15 games with Philadelphia this season.
