How to Watch Pistons at Knicks, Game 2: Stream NBA Playoffs Live, TV Channel

New York Knicks look to defend homecourt after a huge Game 1 comeback against the Detroit Pistons

Jalen Brunson and Cameron Payne keyed a fourth-quarrter comeback as the New York Knicks grabbed a 1-0 lead in their first-round series on Saturday. The Knicks look to extend the Detroit Pistons’ postseason woes on Monday night as they host Game 2 of the series at Madison Square Garden. A 21-0 fourth-quarter run propelled New York to the win while extending the Pistons’ NBA-record playoff losing streak to 15 games, with Detroit’s last postseason victory coming in Game 4 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals. The Pistons authored the best turnaround in the NBA this season, improving from a league-worst 14-68 to 44-38 and their first playoff berth since 2019.

Brunson and Payne combined for 23 fourth-quarter points, outscoring Detroit by themselves in the period, as the Knicks rallied for a 123-112 victory in Game 1. Brunson finished with 34 points and eight assists, Karl-Anthony Towns had 23 points and 11 rebounds in his New York playoff debut and OG Anunoby finished with 23 points and five steals.

Tobias Harris paced Detroit with 25 points, Cade Cunningham had 21 points to go with 12 assists and Malik Beasley came off the bench for 20 points. But the Pistons turned the ball over 21 times — six by Cunningham — and hit just 7-of-22 with eight giveaways in the final 12 minutes.

The Knicks are in the postseason for the third straight season, losing in the conference semifinals each of the last two years. Detroit became just the sixth team in NBA history to improve by at least 30 wins in a single-season and the first since the 2007-08 Boston Celtics pulled off a record 42-win increase in 2007-08.
