Portland has lost two straight after a four-game winning streak put it in the mix to make the Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference.

In the last game between the teams just over a month ago Portland came away with a 108-103 win. Anfernee Simons led the way with 30 points on 8-12 shooting from deep setting a season-high for three-pointers.

Shaedon Sharpe came off the bench for 24 points and Deandre Ayton added 18 points in the win. This season Portland is 18-1 when they allow 103 points or less as this young roster has leaned into its defensive identity. 

Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan led Sacramento in the loss with 22 points each. Malik Monk added 21 points. Since making the blockbuster trade sending All-Star De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs and bringing in LaVine the team is just 10-13 in 23 games. With just 10 games left in the regular season every game matters for both Portland and Sacramento to make the playoffs.
