The Houston Rockets are second in the Western Conference when they take on the Atlanta Hawks Saturday.

The Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks are trending in opposite directions when they tip off on Saturday afternoon. The Rockets have won three in a row and four of their last five but the Hawks have lost four of their last five games. Those trends have given Houston the -4.5-point line in its favor tonight. The Rockets are coming off a 119-115 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on Thursday night. The Rockets went up 2-0 in the season series against their division rival. They are now 1.5 games up on Memphis in first place in the Southwest standings and are second overall in the West.

Alperen Sengun had an amazing game leading all scorers with 32 points and adding 14 rebounds. The Rockets were able to hold on despite Ja Morant scoring 27. The Grizzlies appeared to have tied the game with 3.8 seconds left with Desmond Bane hitting a three but Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins called a timeout beforehand. Bane was then fouled and then the club didn’t get another shot at tying the game with the Rockets holding onto the tight win. Houston has a great record on the road at 12-5 and the Rockets have won six in a row away from home which will serve them very well tonight.

Atlanta broke a three-game losing streak beating Utah on Tuesday but the Hawks lost again on Thursday losing to the Phoenix Suns 123-115. Bradley Beal led the Suns with 25 points off the bench and Kevin Durant was right behind with 23. Trae Young led the Hawks with 21 in Atlanta’s first matchup with the Suns this season. Atlanta fell back to .500 in the process and they are missing Jalen Johnson who has missed three games with a right shoulder injury. Johnson is not expected to return until Tuesday.
