The Golden State Warriors try to close out this series against the Houston Rockets in Game 6 on Friday. Watch free on Fubo.

The Houston Rockets stay alive as this first-round playoff series shifts to Golden State with the Warriors holding a 3-2 advantage heading into Game 6 on Friday. The Warriors will be the favorites here at home tonight and have won all of the games in San Francisco, CA in this series. This game is expected to be close though in a potential clincher for Golden State with the Warriors just the 5.5-point favorites. The Warriors have been the biggest thorn in the Rockets’ playoff hopes over the past decade. There will be plenty of motivation to spoil a potential series clincher for the Warriors. But even if they don’t, this team is very young and just getting started. It looks like Houston certainly doesn’t have a problem and the Rockets will be good for a very long time.

The Rockets didn’t look phased as at all down 3-1 going into Game 5 on Wednesday as they turned in a brilliant performance winning 131-116. The last time Golden State had a lead was an 8-7 lead with 10:07 left in the first quarter. Fred VanVleet led the game with 26 points and Amen Thompson was right behind him with 25 points. The Rockets dominated so much that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr put in the reserves in the middle of the third quarter with the Rockets up 93-64. The Rockets pulled their starters too at the end of the third but put them back in later in the fourth even though Houston was still up 17.

A big contribution to the dominating win was the Rockets shooting 13 of 30 three pointers accounting for a 55.1 percentage shooting percentage overall. It also didn’t help Golden State’s cause that Steph Curry had a down game by his standards being held to just 13 points and shooting 25 percent. Jimmy Butler wasn’t much better being held to eight points and 2-for-10 shooting. Don’t expect those poor shooting numbers from either star tonight especially at home. Can the Warriors move on to the next round tonight to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves?
