On Friday night, the Clippers look to regroup when they host the Phoenix Suns (1-0) at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Phoenix comes off a come-from-behind win at home on Wednesday night to give new coach Jordan Ott his first NBA victory. Guard Jalen Green (hamstring), acquired by the Suns in the Kevin Durant blockbuster in July, didn’t play on Wednesday and is considered a game-time decision for Friday.

Dillon Brooks, also acquired from the Houston Rockets in the Durant deal, hit three free throws with 1:03 remaining and the Suns came from 20 points down to beat the Sacramento Kings 120-116 on Wednesday night. Devin Booker led the way with 31 points while Brooks added 22 and Mark Williams grabbed 11 rebounds in his Phoenix debut.

LA trailed by as much as 37 in a 129-108 loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, surrendering 78 points in the first half. Ivica Zubac scored 19 points while James Harden added 15 points and 11 assists. Brook Lopez came off the bench for 15 points in 17 minutes in his Clippers debut while Bradley Beal, hampered by foul trouble, had just five points in 20 minutes in his first game for LA.

The Clippers come off a 50-win season that ended with a seven-game first-round loss to the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs, LA’s third straight first-round exit. The Suns were 36-46 and missed the play-in tournament, prompting management to fire coach Mike Budenholzer after just one season while trading Durant and buying out Beal.
