Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks on Sunday.

The New York Knicks (44-29) are coming off a bittersweet loss where they saw Jalen Brunson go off for a career-high 61 points, but failed to come out with a win against the San Antonio Spurs. Now they look to bounce back against the Oklahoma City Thunder (51-22) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Sunday. This game starts a five-game Eastern Conference road trip for Oklahoma City with four games against current playoff teams that will be a final test heading into the playoffs. Now with just nine games left in the regular season for both teams, Oklahoma City and New York are both jockeying for position in their conferences led by MVP caliber playmakers on the perimeter.

This season Brunson is having one of the best seasons in franchise history. He is fourth in the league in scoring at 27.9 points per game and right on the cusp of being just the fifth player in franchise history to average 28-plus points per game in a season.

On the other side for Oklahoma City it has a potential MVP in Gilgeous-Alexander. This season he is third in the league in scoring at 30.4 points per game and first in steals at 2.1 per game. He has been the anchor for Oklahoma City all year, leading the team to the third best offensive rating and eighth-best defensive rating.

The first time these teams played was back in December when Oklahoma City came out with a 129-120 win at home. Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 36 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, while Brunson led a very different looking New York team with 24 points and seven assists.
