Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets stole homecourt against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder heading into Game 3.

The Western Conference Semifinals started with the Denver Nuggets (1-1) winning Game 1 in a thriller and home court advantage. Oklahoma City Thunder (1-1) responded by breaking records in a 149-106 win in Game 2. Denver went 3-1 at home in the first round winning the last two by a combined 35 points. Since its championship run Denver is 17-5 at home in the playoffs with the elevation advantage. Through six games between the regular season and the playoffs the season series is tied 3-3 with Oklahoma City holding a stunning plus 65 point differential. That was on full display in Game 2 with Oklahoma City evening the series by scoring an NBA playoff record 87 points in the first half and winning by 43 points.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 34 points and eight assists on 11-13 shooting. Eight total players scored in double-figures and every player who stepped on the court scored for Oklahoma City who also set a franchise record for points in a playoff game.

Denver will try to bounce back after one of its worst playoff performances in the Nikola Jokic era. The 21 turnovers tied a franchise-high since the bubble while the 37.9% shooting from the field was just the seventh time in 75 games.

Jokic finished Game 2 with 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists and six turnovers. He finished with his fourth-worst overall shooting game in the playoffs (37.5%). In Game 1 Jokic looked like the MVP of the league with 42 points, 22 rebounds and six assists on 51.7% shooting from the field.
