Short-handed Cleveland pulled away late for a 134-124 road win over the Washington Wizards on Friday night, getting 33 points from Donovan Mitchell, 27 from Evan Mobley and 23 from Darius Garland. Besides not having Hunter or the two players traded, Isaac Okoro sat out with a shoulder injury, Dean Wade was out with a bone bruise in his right knee and Sam Merrill missed the game for personal reasons.

The Timberwolves, also short-handed due to injuries, surged late on Saturday to beat the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, 114-98, behind 30 points and 10 rebounds from Jaden McDaniels. Naz Reid scored 11 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and Nickell Alexander-Walker had 21 points. Anthony Edwards missed just his second game of the season with a sore hip, while Mike Conley has a sprained right index finger, Donte DiVincenzo is nursing a sprained left big toe and Julius Randle hasn’t played since Jan. 30 due to a strained right adductor.

Mitchell scores 24.0 points per game for the Cavaliers, with Garland averaging 21.9 points and 6.7 assists and Jarrett Allen putting up 13.6 points and 10.3 rebounds a night. Edwards gets 27.2 points per game for Minnesota, with Reid netting 14.2 points per outing and Rudy Gobert averaging 10.8 points and 10.4 boards.
