The Los Angeles Lakers go for their fourth win in a row but Minnesota has a chance at the season-series win Thursday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves go for the season-series victory over the Los Angeles Lakers when these two face off on Thursday night. The Timberwolves hold a 2-1 series lead heading into this finale coming off a low-scoring 97-87 win over LA in the middle of December. Anthony Edwards scored 23 in the win with LeBron James out for the Lakers. Los Angeles is the favorite tonight with a -5.5-point line in its favor. Minnesota firmly holds the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings, but the Timberwolves have to keep their foot on the gas with the resurgence of the Golden State Warriors, who are now in eighth place after their reemergence after adding Jimmy Butler.

The T’Wolves avoided a three-game losing streak in their last game, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 131-128 in overtime in the second game of a back-to-back against OKC. Minnesota was able to overcome a 39-point night from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jaden McDaniels led Minnesota with 27 points. The win was a brilliant comeback with the Timberwolves coming back from a 25-point deficit in the second half. That largely came without Anthony Edwards, who only played for three minutes in the fourth, and Rudy Gobert did not play with lower back spasms. Gobert is expected to return tonight.

The Lakers meanwhile are going for their fourth win in a row and are coming off a huge revenge game of sorts. Los Angeles beat the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, which was the first game Luka Doncic played against his former team since the trade that stunned the world. Doncic did not disappoint against the Mavericks, recording a triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists. LeBron James led the Lakers with 27 points but he is listed as a game-time decision tonight. It is going to be difficult to bet against LA to tie this series tonight.
