It was the first game of LeBron James’ career after turning 40 for Cleveland’s eighth win in a row. Jarrett Allen and Donovan were just too strong of a duo scoring 27 and 26 respectively in the win for James’ original team. Austin Reeves led the game and had a season-high 35 points while James fittingly finished with 23. Los Angeles kept fighting back getting the score down to just a five-point deficit but Cleveland closed out the game with a 10-3 run. The Cavaliers were just too deadly from three hitting 18 three-pointers which is the seventh game in a row where they’ve hit at least that mark. Los Angeles shouldn’t face that problem against Portland tonight.

Portland is coming off a lopsided loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday 125-103. Joel Embiid looked like his vintage MVP self scoring 37 points with a menacing face mask. The 76ers shot very well at 57.3 percent from the field and they scored 36 points off Portland’s 26 turnovers. The game was close until the second quarter when Philly went on a 13-0 run and never looked back. Anfernee Simons had a standout game scoring a team-high 25 points but it wasn’t enough to overcome shooting 22.2 percent from behind the arc even though the team shot 48.1 from the field. They’ll need to shoot much more efficiently to pull off this upset and end this road losing streak.
