The defending champion Boston Celtics (7-1) return home on Wednesday with three straight wins after a 3-1 road trip to host the Golden State Warriors (6-1), who are a perfect 4-0 on the road thus far. The Warriors have won four consecutive games and are 2-0 on their current five-game road swing. Boston didn’t have Finals MVP Jaylen Brown in their win on Monday night, while big man Kristaps Porziņģis is targeting a December return from his foot injury. Golden State played without De’Anthony Melton (lower back) on Monday, but did get three-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry back from an ankle injury.

Curry scored 24 points in 24 minutes in his return on Monday night, as the Warriors dropped the host Washington Wizards 125-112. Buddy Hield added 20 points off the bench and Draymond Green went for 18 points. Hield leads the team at 21.9 points per game and is hitting 50 percent of his three-point tries per game. Kevon Looney averages 8.1 rebounds off the bench and Curry is putting up 19.8 points and 6.5 assists in the four games he’s played.

Jayson Tatum scored 26 of his game-high 28 points in the first half, as the Celtics routed the host Atlanta Hawks 123-93 on Monday. Tatum also dished out nine assists, Derrick White added 21 points and Neemias Queta contributed 10 points and seven rebounds. Tatum is averaging 30.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists for Boston, while Brown gets 25.7 points per game and White puts up 19.0 points a night.

The Celtics lone loss was a 135-132 overtime defeat on the road against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 30, while Golden State’s only blemish is a 112-104 loss at home to the LA Clippers on Oct. 27.
