Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks host the Washington Wizards in NBA preseason action on Wednesday.
The new-look New York Knicks continue to build chemistry with their second preseason game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. In New York’s first game of the preseason it came away with an 111-109 win over the Charlotte Hornets, which was also the debut of both Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns. Both players were acquired via blockbuster trades to start and end the offseason. Both players played 15 minutes or less with Towns finishing with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals. Bridges added a modest four points in his 13 minutes, as New York debuted the lineup of Bridges and Towns alongside the returning Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart.

Towns is coming off his eighth straight season averaging over 20 points per game and fifth straight season making at least two three-pointers per game. He gives New York a new wrinkle to the offense as a floor-spacing big man who can contribute to a great team defense like he did over the last two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
For Bridges, he is one of the most adaptable players in the NBA. He was an elite role player for the Phoenix Suns for four seasons, including a trip to the NBA Finals in 2021, before spreading his wings as a go-to scorer for the last season and a half with the Brooklyn Nets. The combination of Bridges and Towns make New York one of the most fascinating teams heading into this season.
This is also Washington’s second preseason game. They were routed by the Toronto Raptors 125-98 in that game with new head coach Brian Keefe rolling out the starting lineup of veterans Jordan Poole (16 points), Kyle (two points) and Jonas Valanciunas (three points) along with young stars Bilal Coulibaly (10 points) and rookie Alex Sarr (15 points).
