The Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards both try to end five-game losing streaks on Wednesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers try to end a five-game losing streak when they host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Philly is 2-8 in its last 10 games, but the club should have a great opportunity to end this streak because the Wizards are also trying to end a five-game losing streak while losing seven of its last 10 games. Washington has also lost three in a row on the road and is 8-28 away from the nation’s capital. Philadelphia leads this series 1-0 after beating Washington 109-103 back in January, with Tyrese Maxey scoring a game-high 29 points and hitting the go-ahead basket with 23.7 seconds left in the game.

The Sixers are coming off a 112-99 loss on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans, a team that has more losses than Philadelphia. Philadelphia was held to just 39.1 percent shooting. Justin Edwards tied Karlo Matkovic of the Pelicans with a game-high 19 points. Philly was down nine at halftime, but came back to make it a tight game in the third. New Orleans didn’t let the Sixers back in for long though, going on a 16-2 run at the end of the quarter to put the game away. New Orleans swept the season series 2-0 in the process.
Washington is coming off a 112-104 loss at home on Monday against the Toronto Raptors. Jordan Poole did lead all scorers with 23 points, but it was not enough to overcome losing the season series 3-1 in the finale. The biggest loss of the night though was Kyshawn George leaving the game with a sprained ankle in the first quarter. George is questionable for this game and Khris Middleton will miss this game due to an ankle injury.
