The U.S. Open of Pickleball is set to continue on Friday in Naples, Florida.
The world’s best pickleball players will be gathering in Naples, Florida, for the eighth annual U.S. Open Pickleball Championships. 25-year-old Parris Todd, who won last year’s women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles events, is scheduled to compete. Acclaimed pro Simone Jardin is also scheduled to feature at the event, as is J.W. Johnson, the youngest player to win a professional national pickleball championship title. Johnson grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas, before he and his family moved to Naples, Florida to pursue a tennis career for him and his sister, Jorja. They started playing pickleball as a way to engage with their new community.

Johnson’s mother and sister are also top players on the tour. Johnson has been playing pickleball ever since and is among the top 10 players in the world. He was the youngest player in history to win the menās singles title at the age of 19. In 2022, he medaled 47 times, securing 3 triple crowns.
Meanwhile, Jardin was ranked the number one woman player in the world from 2016 to 2020. She won the US Open women’s singles four consecutive times (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and is a two-time triple crown winner of the US Open Pickleball championships, winning in singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles in 2017 and 2018.
