A single win separates these two franchises despite being on opposite sides of the league, with Miami entering this game sat eighth in the Eastern Conference as things stand. Portland is only marginally worse off in the Western on 22 wins thus far, with a chance to leap toward top-six contention if it can end a woeful run of form when hosting the Heat.

While Miami has yet to record consecutive wins thus far in 2026, the Trail Blazers are currently at the height of a three-win streak in what’s been a monstrous start to 2026.

Deni Avdija made a return to the top of the Portland’s scoring charts in the recent 117-110 victory over Sacramento, finishing with 30 points and eight rebounds to his name.

However, he wasn’t the only Trail Blazers to showcase his value last Sunday, with Donovan Clingan’s 17 rebounds proving particularly profitable:

Whatever has changed for Portland since the start of the calendar year, the team needs to ensure it doesn’t stop after picking up eight of their total 22 wins in the past three weeks alone.

Erik Spoelstra’s men have won just eight of their 22 road games so far this season and travel to Oregon with a chance to challenge for first in the Southeast Division if all goes to plan.

And it certainly helps that Portland is dealing with a raft of injury concerns, including long-term absentee Damian Lillard, Jerami Grant (achilles), Scoot Henderson (hamstring), Matisse Thybulle (thumb), Jrue Holiday (calf) and Kris Murray (back).

By contrast, the Heat’s only major concerns are Tyler Herro, who misses out with a toe injury, and Kel’el Ware, who is day-to-day as he nurses a hamstring complaint.
