The Phoenix Suns look to end the season undefeated against the New Orleans Pelicans in this finale on Friday.

The Phoenix Suns go for the season-series sweep of the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night in this finale. The Suns just missed out on winning three in a row, dropping to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, while the Pelicans avoided losing three in a row in their last matchup by beating the last-place Sacramento Kings. Both teams will be playing on back-to-back nights after playing on Thursday. The Suns won Game 3 two days after Christmas, taking a 3-0 lead in the season series, 123-114 on the road. Devin Booker scored a team-high 20 points. It was the second win for Phoenix in the second game of a back-to-back set against the Pelicans in New Orleans. The highlight, or rather lowlight, was that New Orleans’ Jose Alvarado and Phoenix’s Mark Williams were both ejected after punches were thrown. This happened after New Orleans went on a 12-2 run, cutting Phoenix’s lead to just two points. Phoenix sits in seventh in the Western Conference standings, two games behind the Los Angeles Lakers, who lost on Thursday and also play on Friday night. Dillon Brooks will be out until March 28 with a broken left hand, while Dejounte Murray will be out due to rest after he missed the game against the Kings. Phoenix will be the 6.5-point favorite to defend home court to sweep this season series.

The Bulls won their second of three games by beating the Suns on Thursday, 105-103. That came after Chicago lost 11 straight. Collin Sexton scored a game-high 30 points and edged out Devin Booker, who led the Suns with 27 points. The Suns nearly pulled off the comeback after being down 12 with less than six minutes left in regulation. Booker hit a three-pointer with 23 seconds left to get within one, but Phoenix couldn’t score again. Jalen Green had the chance to gain the first lead of the game, but he missed a layup. Chicago made one of two ensuing free throws, and the Suns never got the ball back.

New Orleans is coming off a 133-123 victory over the Kings on the road on Thursday. Zion Williamson led the club with 23 points, while adding nine rebounds. Williamson was 10 for 14 shooting, while the team shot 50 percent from the field. Trey Murphy III scored 21, and the Pelicans pulled away late in the third quarter. New Orleans won the series 2-0 in the process and will go for the series sweep in Game 3 on April 3 in Sacramento. The road gets much tougher tonight in Phoenix.
