Cam Ward and No. 10 Miami are back at it on Saturday against Ball State.

Through two weeks of the 2024 College Football season, the ACC looks to be wide open. Sitting at the top of the conference is Miami (2-0, 0-0 ACC), in the third season under head coach Mario Cristobal. After a 7-6 season last year, The U has gotten a major boost from Washington State transfer quarterback Cam Ward, who through two games has thrown for 689 yards and six touchdowns while adding 46 yards and another touchdown on the ground. On Saturday, Ward and Miami are back in action at home at Hard Rock Stadium against Ball State (1-0, 0-0 MAC).

Miami already has one signature win this year, which came in Week 1 against in-state rival Florida. That was a breakout game for Ward, who threw for 385 yards and a touchdown. His top receiver in that one was Xavier Restrepo, who had seven catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in the Hurricanes’ blowout 41-17 win.

Last week was Miami’s home opener, with the Hurricanes hosting FCS program Florida A&M. Ward threw for another 304 yards and three more touchdowns in that one, while Restrepo recorded four catches for 104 yards and one of the touchdowns. Miami won the game 56-7.

This week they’ll take on a Ball State team playing its first FBS opponent of the year. The Cardinals opened up their season at home last week, hanging on to beat Missouri State 42-34.
