Harvard looks to stay undefeated when they host Cornell on Friday night in this conference rivalry. The Crimson are 3-0 and 1-0 already in Ivy League play after beating Brown in Week 2 in their home opener. Harvard’s offense is clicking on all cylinders so far. The lowest the team has scored in their first three games is 41, and has scored 59 points on two separate occasions. In Harvard’s first two games, it only gave up a touchdown in each game. The Crimson will be the clear favorites even before considering that Cornell is looking to win its first game of the season. Big Red is 0-3 to start the year, and lost its only conference game against Yale 41-24 two weeks ago. Cornell is trying to bounce back from a loss last week to Colgate by a 41-21 final. It’s not going to help that the Big Red have to go up against the No. 22 ranked Crimson. There is a reason for optimism though for Cornell though, because after this game Big Red will have a three-game homestand.

Harvard didn’t waste any time in its game last week against Holy Cross, beating the Crusaders on the road 59-24. The Crimson dropped Holy Cross to 0-6 to open the season, and it was up 38-3 by halftime before they put it into cruise control in the second half. QB Jaden Craig threw for 248 yards with three touchdowns. The Crusaders’ QB also threw for three touchdowns, but the Harvard defense forced him to throw three interceptions. Brady Blackburn snagged 114 of those receiving yards and two touchdowns to lead the Crimson. Harvard didn’t score in the fourth quarter and still won by 35. To state the obvious, this is going to be a monumental task for Cornell to even slow down this offense.

Cornell did not get the lift it needed being at home to take down Colgate. Raiders QB Jake Stearney was just too much throwing for four touchdowns and 206 yards. Cornell’s QB Garrett Bass-Sulpizio threw for 225 yards and a score, but he also threw two interceptions. Cornell got within a touchdown after scoring twice and shutting out Colgate in the third quarter. But the Big Red couldn’t score in the fourth, and let up two more touchdowns to drop their third in a row.
