The Eastern Washington Eagles will head on the road in Week 6 of the college football season to take on the Sacramento State Hornets at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California, on Saturday night. The Hornets head into this week with a 2-3 record through the first five weeks of the season. They opened the year up with two straight losses on the road at San Jose State 42-24 and at Fresno State 46-30. They came back home for the first time this season in Week 3 and picked up their first win of the season beating Nicholls 34-7 following it up with their first road win of the year in a shutout win over Texas A&M Commerce 34-0. Last week, they stayed on the road and lost to Northern Arizona 34-16. Freshman quarterback Carson Conklin leads the team in under center this season with 844 yards on 76 completions with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. On the ground, junior back Elijah Tau-Tolliver has been handling the slack with 93 carries for 499 yards and three touchdowns averaging 5.4 yards per carry.

The Eagles come into Week 6 with a 1-4 record through its start to the season. They won their first game of the year at home against Monmouth 42-27 and have since lost all four games since then. They were taken down 35-32 from Drake in overtime, 28-24 against SE Louisiana, 49-16 against Nevada on the road, and 52-49 against Montana at home last week.

Kekoa Visperas leads the team as a junior quarterback. He has thrown for 1,076 yards and 10 touchdowns without an interception despite the team losing four games. His favorite target has been Efton Chism III who has 47 receptions for 513 yards and seven touchdowns averaging 10.9 yards per reception.
