The Texas Longhorns welcome the Florida Gators to town on Saturday afternoon looking to win a second straight game. The Longhorns are coming off a bye after they slipped by a pesky Vanderbilt team 27-24 two weeks ago. The win over the Commodores came after they had suffered their first loss of the year to Georgia. The Longhorns had started the year 6-0 and looked like the clear-cut favorite to win the title, but they were dominated by the Bulldogs in the first half and lost 30-15. Despite that loss, they still sit at 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC. There is still a cluster of teams with one loss in the conference standings and the Longhorns can’t afford another loss if they want to keep their hopes of playing the conference championship game alive. Two of their next three games will be on the road so they need to take care of business at home on Saturday.

The Gators, though, are looking to come to town and get a huge upset win over the Longhorns.

The Gators had a rough start to the season as they were whipped by Miami and Texas A&M. They have played much better since and have nearly upset both Tennessee and Georgia.

Last week they were tied with the Bulldogs late, but gave up two late touchdowns to lose 34-20. It was a good game for the Gators despite the loss and Saturday they are hoping they can get over that hump and knock off the fifth-ranked Longhorns.
