No. 8 Florida State travels for this ACC rivalry, when it looks to stay undefeated taking on Virginia on Friday night. The road into Week 4 has been surprisingly comfortable for the Seminoles, and remember they won with plenty of margin against then ranked No. 8 Alabama in the first game of the season. The next two games were against East Texas A&M and Kent State though, so this rivalry game will be a much bigger challenge for FSU when conference play starts this week. Virginia is averaging an impressive 564.5 yards per game which ranks No. 5 nationally. It is also giving up 313.5 yards per game, so the best defense for the Cavs might be their offense.

The Seminoles are coming off a dominating 66-10 win over Kent State, but the college football committee is relentless with FSU dropping from No. 7 to No. 8. There was just no stopping Florida State last week after a bye week, and in the process it surpassed its win total from last season. The team rushed for 498 yards which was a single-game school record. The Seminoles rushed for eight touchdowns, which was as many as they rushed for all season last year. Gavin Sawchuk nearly hit the century mark on 11 carries and he accounted for two touchdowns. QB Tommy Castellanos carried his own weight on the ground rushing for two more scores, and passing for 205 yards in the complete performance. FSU was up 35-7 in the first quarter and never had to look back.

Virginia’s offense went off too last week, as the Cavs beat Stanford for their first ACC win of the season by a 48-20 final. Wide receiver Trell Harris did not waste any time, going for three touchdowns in the first quarter alone. QB Chandler Morris had himself a night as well, going for a total of four touchdowns and he threw for 380 yards. Virginia outgained the Cardinal 590 to 321 yards. Expect this to be another high scoring conference matchup against FSU for some Friday night football.
