The BYU look to keep their chance at a Big 12 title alive when it plays Houston on Saturday night

The BYU Cougars host the Houston Cougars on Saturday night looking to snap a two-game losing streak and keep their hopes of making the Big 12 championship game alive. The Cougars started the season with nine straight wins, but have been upset by Kansas and Arizona State over the last two weeks. They now sit at 9-2 overall and 6-2 in the Big 12. They are tied at the top of the conference standings with Arizona State, Colorado and Iowa State. The Cougars need a win on Saturday and some help to make the the title game. The Cougars have been led by Jake Retzlaff who has thrown for 2,629 yards and 20 touchdowns this season. HIs top two targets this season have been Chase Roberts and Darius Lassiter. The two have combined for 91 receptions for 1,446 yards and eight touchdowns.

Houston will have to find a way to slow them down if they want to deal BYU its third straight loss.

Houston also comes into Saturday on a two-game losing streak and the Cougars are just 4-7 on the season and 3-5 in the Big 12.

The Cougars are not going to be playing in a bowl game this year, but they can still ruin BYU chances at making the conference title game and the College Football Playoff.

The Cougars have already upset a ranked team when they beat No. 17 Kansas State back the beginning of November. They haven’t won since, though, as they have lost to Arizona and Baylor over their last two games.
